Important Delays.

We're certainly not starting the new year off right.  Mama has to let me blog more!  Well, at least she lets me read some of the blogs.   That's something.
Oh, I know.  She's been busy.  Yea, yea.  Doctor's check ups and all. But the movie last night was cancelled.  So what did she do??  Research!
No, I'm not kidding.  Research.  On if there is any help for her to cut down the expense of her insulin copays. She has spend many hours on the phone now and on the puter.  And guess what? There's nothing out there.  If you are on Medicare they kinda laugh at you and ask you if you can cut back on something else to help pay for your prescription.  Like ME??? Like foodies???
Well, now you know why we always help Parker out with the "Stop Diabetes" sign on our sidebar.
Anybody know anyone rich who can help start a foundation for people like mama???
Really.  The only help you can get is if you don't have insurance at all.  And if that is your problem, hey, there's lots of help!!
Wonder if our Senator would help us get backers for a foundation.  Hmmmm.
Darn.  I gave mama an idea. Another delay.
At least let me blog for a while, please, mama??
love

Our mommie has the same kind of problems with insurance. She can not get any of the private insurance companies to insure her because, in the words of her rejection letters "you have significant health issues". Apparently, you not supposed to actually use the services you are paying for when you pay health premiums.

that's not a bad idea - our the mom is on 2 insulins, and 2 oral meds for her diabetes and it costs her 175 a month. that's ALOT of stinky goodness that's not going to us.

Our boy didn't have insurance when he collapsed with high blood sugar & was airlifted to Abbot. Imagine how much that cost us taxpayers...emergency services, airlift, 3 days in ICU, round the clock monitoring, tests, doctors, 4 more days in hospital. At least $20,000! If only he had been allowed a minimum of insurance so he could get insulin and see a doctor regularily all that expense would have been spared with preventative medicine.
Something is really broken here.

It makes us sad to know that people who need help can't get it for life-saving medicines, but $$$ can always be found for things that don't benefit anyone. What a world. Wishing the best for your Mama ...

We know! The mom has lots of blood pressure meds and we could have lots of fancy cat trees if she didn't!

We haf heard this story or one like it many times. This makes our Mommy sad and/or mad. This country should take better care of its seniors!
